Yilan Day Trip

I was able to visit Yilan with my classmates last weekend. In case you don’t know, I am currently enrolled in a summer program at National Taiwan University (NTU). It was so much fun just to go out of Taipei with your new found friends! We all were able to bond and get to know each other on that trip.

Yilan for me was like Keelung. If you haven’t read my blog post We went to Keelung City!!,  please do! So, you’ll know why I think the both cities are very much alike. Yilan also has harbors and ports (see images below!) which Keelung also has. But Keelung’s port is much bigger as compared to Yilan’s. Also, Yilan’s port offers tourists and visitors to watch dolphins and whales at Turtle Island which I haven’t found in Keelung port.

Lanyang Museum

It was fun to learn more about Yilan at this museum. This museum is very educational and interactive. For me, I enjoyed reading the information written in every display. My personal favorite part of the museum that I enjoyed reading was about tectonic plates! I don’t know why but I am interested to know anything about tectonic plates. Please do read it and I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I do!

Yilan Port

It can be really hot to go outside and walk in this area. It will also be humid since you’re near the water. Luckily, the port has an air-conditioned cafe for you to chill.

Fish Spa

After the port, we rode the bus to do fish spa. The experience was unique. In this fish spa, they have two kinds of fishes. The first one is the small ones which they bite of dead skin but it’s not as ticklish as the big ones. But they’re also nice since they also eat your dead skin. On the other hand, the big ones are much better for me. The big ones are really ticklish at first since you can really feel the bites. But my adviser said that the big ones really go into your pressure points so it kind of relieves stress as well. With regards to the price, I remember that it’s not that expensive!

I’m sorry if I don’t have pictures for this one but I hope this helps!

I hope this will help when you plan to visit Yilan. It’s a great place for relaxation!

Take care!

Love,

Caye
